Now, as my attention turns toward the world of Pokemon (Once again), I downloaded and started reading the manga version of Pokemon which has the title of: "Pokemon Adventures". This series is totally different from what we were familiar with, which is the Pokemon TV Series where we follow Ash Ketchum of Pallet Town on his journey to become a Pokemon Master! Which is the main goal as well of the Manga version's lead character Red, which was from Pallet Town as well. (So somehow the same, but in a parallel universe, haha)
So, in the first chapter of the manga (Chapter 01: VS Mew) we were introduced to the main character Red, which claims that he is the best trainer around Pallet Town, he showed off his skills in capturing a Nidorino with the use of his Poliwhirl in front of young trainers that failed in their attempt to capture the said Pokemon.
Those kids informed him about Professor Oak that lived on the town's edge, Red was told that Professor Oak trained his grandkid to be one of the greatest Pokemon Trainer ever. Now fuelled with curiosity, Red would like now to meet Professor Oak to ask for his help, but was interrupted by men in black uniform, the organization known as Team Rocket! They were looking for a Phantom Pokemon, upon hearing this Red was challenged by the idea of capturing that said pokemon on his own.
Red was now in the forest looking for that Phantom Pokemon, when he heard a commotion (Pokemon Battle) happening nearby, and when he came to look, he saw that someone came and challenged the Phantom Pokemon first, the guy was using a Charmander to battle the phantom Pokemon, in the eyes of the readers and Red, it seems that the trainer and Charmander has an edge over the phantom pokemon, but just like Red, I was shocked to see that the trainer asked for his pokemon to return to the pokeball. Red was confused as to what happened, but either way he now had a shot of capturing the phantom pokemon, he used his Poliwhirl but was knocked off immediately by the creature.
The trainer advised Red that he should know his limitations, that he knew that the phantom pokemon was far superior from his Charmander that's why he called off the attack. Now Red was left alone in the forest, he was seen by the Team Rocket grunts, but they just ignored him in pursue of the Phantom Pokemon.
After his defeat from the unknown Pokemon, Red went to Professor Oak's place to learn from him, and do whatever it takes to become a great Pokemon trainer.
And that's it folks, end of Chapter 1!
*Upon reading this chapter, I actually decided to read first the Manga version then maybe after I read everything up, I'll start watching the series from Kanto to Alola*. (This sure is hard, I believe this will be harder than re-reading and re-watching One Piece)
*I don't know but this feels more interesting than watching the immortal Ash Ketchum*.
*Red had his first (Poliwhirl), and second (Nidorino) Pokemon before he went over Professor Oak's place, this is clearly different with Ash Ketchum's version, I wonder if the professor will give him a Pikachu or one of the three Kanto starters*.
